Missing you this Christmas

Well... this is the first holiday with out Grandpa Jex and let me tell you... it's different. Knowing that he won't be there when we have our holiday gathering this year sitting down with his arms folded, laughing at the jokes, and listening to all us grand kids sing. I'll miss the way he sings "Grandma got ran over by a reindeer" so proudly. We haven't had the Jex Holiday gathering yet... but I guarantee you that it will be different. I was just looking at my pictures of Last years Holiday gathering and found these & wanted to share. 2006 was the best Jex's Holiday gathering. Enjoy. Love and Miss you so much Grandpa.

...that is the question?

Ok... this is a great story.
(if you have an uneasy stomach... skip this post!)

One day at my old apartment, I was taking a shower trying to get ready for the day. Well, there's only one bathroom at my place... and Cory really had to use the restroom. He couldn't wait one more second. So I closed the shower curtain & let him do his business. Well, 2 minutes later... he started cracking up hysterically. I was like... what happened? Cory then directed me towards the toilet. This is what was found...

That's why I love ya babe!!!

My sisters...

All I have to say... is damn, we look good. (From left to right... Deandra, Me, LeeElle, Janae)

I think my parents did a good job. I'm going to say a few positive things about each one...

LeeElle is the oldest... therefore she will most likely die first.j/k
She also is very smart & married a very handsome man who I love dearly. She's going to be a very bossy mom... but her kids will be very structured & come out perfectly fine.

Janae is the 3rd oldest. She is very beautiful & knows it. She's what we call "book smart" but "street stupid". She going to school for nursing & will be there to change my bed-pan when I'm sick in the hospital. That's love.

Deandra is the youngest of the girls. She is crazy. She's a "Shiquanda" if you know what I mean. She works a lot... as a waitress. I'm waiting for her to go to EMT school where she will do great. She'll be there to give me CPR & my favorite... mouth to mouth!

Well... those are my sisters. I love them very much and wouldn't trade them for... less than $1,000,000!!! Any offers?

December Birthday's SUCK!!!

Some interesting information... my parents were married in the month of March. Every year they usually go away for their aniversary to celebrate. Well, I'm a December baby along with 2 of my other siblings (Janae- Dec.26th & Collin- Dec. 20th)... so you can do the math.

Growing up... I never had any money. Maybe a buck or two stuffed in my sock drawer... but that's it. The only time of the year I had $$$ was in December... around my Birthday. So every year I get my birthday $$$ & end up spending it on other peoples X-mas gifts. Sucks huh. Also, you have people out there who are like... "Here's your Birthday/Christmas gift." Whatever... those people suck.

It get's harder and harder each year. See Cory's Birthday is just 8 day's before mine... and for the past 5 years... we haven't done a gift exchange because we're poor.

Let me set the record straight... this year I don't want any gifts for my B-day. That's right, NO GIFTS. I just want to go out and have a good dinner with people I love. That's it. I'm just rambling now. Ok... I'm signing off now. BA HUMBUG!

Cory finally gave me a ring!!!

So on the way up to Big Bear this past weekend... we decided to stop and get a bite to eat. Well, we ended up eating at "Uncle Howie's Pizza Place" in Redlands, Ca.
Classy! Well... while waiting for our food... Cory went to the Arcade to play some ski-ball. Well... 5 minutes later he returns to the booth where I'm waiting anxiously for my food and says, "Babe, this trip has made me realize how much I love you... and I... I..." before he finishes his sentace I'm already rolling my eye's out of disgust & he holds up a plastic ring that he won in the arcade.
I love it when Cory mocks me. I still have the ring on... even though I didn't let him finish his sentence. (Actually, I'm only wearing it because I cannot get it off my finger... it's too fat.)

Well... I wanted to share this pathetic story with ya'll.

Happy Birthday Cory!!!

Last Sunday (12/02) was Cory's 24th B-day. We went to Big Bear & stayed in my Co-workers Cabin. We hit to the slopes for a day... he snowboarded & I skied. We ate prime rib... which was delicious. It was a fun weekend. How cool is this... Cory and I went shopping at Costco the day before we left and found Pancake batter in an aerosol can. Like whip cream... but Pancake batter. Crazy huh. Cory had to buy it. He said how can you pass up Pancake batter in an aerosol can? Let me tell ya, it's not possible.
Anyway... Happy Birthday sweetie pie.

Cell phones - New Law

According to a proposed new law that would go into effect Jan 1, 2008 you will no longer be able to use a cell phone while driving unless you have a 'hands free' adapter. I went to Circuit City and they wanted $50 for a headset with a microphone for my cell phone. Having a friend in the cell phone business, I talked with him and was able to come up with an alternative, working through Office Depot.

These kits are compatible with any mobile phone and one size fits all. I paid him $0.08 each because he bought in quantity. Then we tried it with Motorola, Sprint,
Verizon and Nokia units and they worked perfectly.

A photo is attached so enjoy.

Happy Aniversary LeeElle & Brother John!!!

My older sister LeeElle & her husband Brother John are celebrating their 3rd year of marriage today. I just saw them last Saturday when they came down for Cory's Grease play. They informed us all of there wonderful plans for their special day... they're going to IHOP!!! Personally, I love IHOP. I see nothing wrong with getting stuffed crepes... or a Denver Omelet on the day that you vowed you love to your significant other.

Well... I'm very happy that LeeElle found John and that he's stuck around. I'm love that he loves her and treats her well. All I have to say is... Brother John is such a wonderful husband... he even leaves beautiful vacuum lines in the carpet because he knows it matters. LeeElle is learning to be more patient because of him. She's a very loving and caring wife. John is currently going to school to be a full time lawyer for our family... (especially Collin). j/k. She takes care of John when he has to stay up for all hours of the night writing papers and studying. They're a great couple. NOW GO CELEBRATE & GIVE ME A NIECE OR NEPHEW!!!

Love you guys.

Don't skip Thanksgiving!!!

Well... as much as I love X-mas time... every year Thanksgiving seems to get smothered and hidden by all the X-mas hype. I want to make sure that I give my "Thanks" before it gets smothered...

I'M THANKFUL FOR...

*The love of my Life Cory... for helping me become a better person*

*My Family who I can always count on to be there for me*

*Debbie Eastman... who a constant reminder that there is good in the world*

*Cory's parents who've helped us out so much*

*My few friends that I do have*

*Semi-good health*

*Both Grandma & Grandpa Matern & Grandma Jex*

*A job that pays for benefits*

*My cosmetology License*

*This wonderful country that I live in*

*Heavenly Father*

*This life that I've been given*

I hope that we can all reflect on the important things in life... the things that really matter, and take the time to say thanks.

Let the giving begin...

Well... I finally did it. I broke down and surprised Cory with Guitar Hero 3 yesterday. He was recently in his Colleges theater production of "Grease"... starring as Danny Zuko. He was brilliant. Seriously Brilliant! It has been a very stressful & strenuous past 3 months preparing for the performance... we seriously need a break. I was the music director for the play... and was paid a nice sum of $$$ when all was said and done (even though I told the director that I would do it for free). So, I decided to share my $$$ with the star of the show because he deserved it... hence the Guitar hero.

I told him that I had a little gift for him in my car and that he needed to go get it... so he went outside... and came back inside with a huge grin on his face. I was so excited to see the reaction on his face. He automatically turned back into a 12 year old boy & played the game until he had to go to school at 6pm.

There's something about giving that makes you feel so good. Yes... receiving is a wonderful thing... but honestly... the more I get... the more I want to give. (Let's keep it real... I'm no saint... and don't want to portray that I'm perfect... because there are many out there who would set you straight.) My Birthday is Dec. 10th... so when I was younger I would always come into a little chunk of $$$ for my b-day... but then would spend all that on gifts for everyone else for X-mas. My mom started taking my $$$ and then give it back to me after X-mas so I would actually spend my b-day $$$ on me.

Well... Cory and I decided no gifts this year... because we're poor... but at the end of the day... who really needs gifts when you're surrounded by the people you love.

Our Trip to the San Diego Wild Anaimal Park...

I totally forgot about this picture. We went to the "San Diego Wild Animal Park" this past Summer... and Cory couldn't help but show his love for the animals.

This is why I love ya babe!!!

Halloween 2007

X-MAS MUSIC IS NOW PLAYING!!!

I'm crazy when it comes to Christmas music... and KOST 103.5 started the music today. All my co-workers think I belong in the physc ward... and have threatened to hurt me if I start singing out loud. They said that I have to wait until after the Thanksgiving weekend before I can begin decorating and blaring my joyful music in the department.

Why is Christmas music a form of Therapy? I don't know... but I love the way it makes me feel.

Anyways... I'm having a bad day today... but now I don't have to slit my wrists because Heavenly Father commanded Kost 103.5 to begin Christmas music 24/7 starting today.

Amen!

My man!

This is Cory. The love of my life. We met in High School... but didn't date until he graduated (because I don't believe in high school relationships... they're stupid and pointless). Well, we've been going strong for almost 7 years now... and I've enjoyed every minute of it.

My family fell in love with him the second they met him. Deandra (Little sis) actually had a crush on Cory for the first year. She would always say, "How did you get him K.L.? He's way too cute to go for someone like you!" I love her honesty. Anyway, here's some interesting tid-bits about him...

*He's currently starring in his College's performance of "Grease" the musical (btw... opening nigh is tomorrow!!!)

*Very patient & kind (otherwise he would have dropped me 6 years ago)

*I think he does have some brain damage because #1-He's with me & #2- He's met my family & hasn't run.

*Held a 4.0 GPA all through College (very smart)

*Graphic artist

*Bass Player in his band - BROUGHT DOWN RUNNING

*Awesome with Film & editing (wants to be a filmmaker)

*Comedian

*Good looking - even though he can sometimes resemble a hobbit (LOTR)

*Has a Wonderful Family who helps us out tremendously while he's finishing school (getting his 2nd degree)

*Very Creative

*Sings

*Dances in Public - because he doesn't care what people thing of him... crazy!

*Just an all around "Good Guy"

MOST OF ALL... I LOVE HIM!!!

He makes me laugh & I'm blessed to have him in my life. I love you babe!!!

I KNOW HOW TO USE A COMPUTER!!!

This is an exciting day for me... i'm officially not a complete retard. I can set up my own blog. Sure it's an easy thing to do... but I'm so lazy... I've been putting it off for-ever!!! Well... I will need to start loading pictures and all the other "stuff" on here to SHARE MY LIFE with y'all.

Anyways... that's it for now. I'll have to post something special for tomorrow!!! Yeah!

(I'm going to be your competition LeeElle! There no sharing the spotlight!)
